Honorary Fellowships for the Trust founders

The Guildhall School has awarded two Honorary Fellowships to Maureen Amar and Richard Jenkins in recognition of their support for many students for over 20 years.

The Trust has enabled a large number of postgraduate students of opera, performing arts and production arts to complete their academic training.

They also have been major supporters of the National Opera Studio and Samling Institute for Young Artists. Bravura House was developed with the purpose of providing accommodation for postgraduate students at the Guildhall School
and National Opera Studio at a subsidised cost.

The Guildhall School of Music & Drama is incredibly grateful to The Amar-Franses & Foster-Jenkins Trust for its generous and longstanding support of our postgraduate students.

The scholarships provided by the Trust have relieved the financial pressures faced by many students at the School, removing potential barriers to transformative performance training at a world leading conservatoire.
What’s more, in offering access to bespoke student accommodation (complete with a remarkable rehearsal space in the garden!), Maureen and Richard have shown a deep understanding of the needs of aspiring performers, and a dedication to enabling students to achieve their full potential.
